Bariatric Surgery Support Programs in New Jersey There are two specialized support groups for patients who have had bariatric surgery. Bariatric Support Group I is specifically for patients who have had bariatric surgery within the last 12 months. Bariatric Support Group II is for patients who have had bariatric surgery over 12 months ago. Each Support Group offers additional educational and networking opportunities for participants. Support Group sessions address a broad spectrum of issues that help meet the challenges of long term lifestyle changes.Led by a professional who is especially experienced with the challenges of obesity, topics include: healthy cooking, stress management, exercise guidelines, coping skills, behavior modification, improving quality of diet, supplements, eating out, and body image changes.
