About Our Surgeons

Dr. Michael Nusbaum, MD, FACS,Chief of the Division of Bariatric Surgery, is board certified by the American Board of Surgery, is listed with the Directory of Board Certified Medical Specialists and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Nusbaum performs all his surgeries exclusively at the Saint Barnabas Medical Center, in Livingston, New Jersey. He performed the first successful Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass at Saint Barnabas Medical Center and has performed more Gastric Bypass Surgeries at SBMC than any other surgeon. Dr. Nusbaum is a member of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery, a member of the American Medical Association, a member of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, and a member of The Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons among others. Dr. Nusbaum is a designated Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence surgeon.
