Our Service Credo Adherence to our Service Credo is one of Saint Barnabas Medical Center's most distinguishing characteristics in treating all levels of emergency care - from minor illnesses to major trauma. Emergency department personnel establish relationships with patients and families by using these guidelines of respect: A Warm Greeting: Health care providers greet all patients warmly and sincerely, using the patient's name and introducing themselves. Meeting Needs: Patient and family needs and expectations are discussed to create a healing partnership and to develop an individualized care plan. Continued Communication: Patients and families are provided updates as to where they are in the Emergency Department care process. Prior to Discharge: All patients have the opportunity to have all of their questions answered before being discharged from the Emergency Department.
