Medical Education (973) 322-5777 The Department is responsible for medical education for 138 resident physicians in fourteen programs approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, the American Osteopathic Association, or the American Podiatric Medical Association. Saint Barnabas Medical Center is a major teaching affiliate providing a wide array of clerkships for students of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. In cooperation with its affiliates, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Monmouth Medical Center, the Medical Center also hosts medical students from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies and New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, Old Westbury, NY. We are proud to be participating in the medical education of an impressive number of medical students, as well as physician assistant students and other professionals in training; this mission reflects the quality of our faculty members and their commitment to sharing their enthusiasm and knowledge with health care practitioners of the future. Medical symposia and continuing medical education programs featuring guest lecturers are presented throughout the year. Saint Barnabas is accredited by the Medical Society of New Jersey to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians, and invites physicians in the New Jersey region to attend our programs.
