Saint Barnabas Medical Center
offers a range of ongoing, free support groups, individual and
group counseling sessions, and other educational workshops. They
have recognized that in today’s demanding work and home
environments, access via computer might provide another opportunity
to utilize these support services.
Beginning in 2002, patients and their families have the option
to have a thoughtful e-mail dialogue with a mental health professional
who specializes in the psychological and emotional effects of a
cancer diagnosis.
Do you sometimes....
.....wish there was someone you could talk to about what you’re
going through?
.....worry about what you should tell your children or other close
relatives?
.....feel like your life isn’t “normal” anymore?
.....think that friends or colleagues are treating you differently?
.....feel incredibly tired?
.....worry because communication with your significant other has
become difficult?
.....wonder… “Why me?”
These and many other thoughts and/or feelings are common. Saint
Barnabas Medical Center is committed to treating the whole person
and provides Ask an Oncology Counselor, as well as its other counseling
and educational programs, to support those individuals whose lives
have been affected by cancer. Our goal is to help individuals
feel as empowered as possible. Please click below to direct
