The Children’s Center At Saint Barnabas Medical Center Saint Barnabas has evolved into a premier health care facility for children. The new state-of-the-art $8 million Children’s Center at Saint Barnabas centralizes existing pediatric services within one redesigned and expanded area of the hospital. The Children’s Center offers the latest technologies, family-friendly lounges and lobbies, new exam and treatment rooms, greater space for support staff, a parent overnight room, sibling play areas and access to the finest pediatric care available. To honor Todd and Theresa Christie and Gary Goldring for their major gifts in support of the pediatric construction project, the units have been given new names. The 4300 Unit is named The Christie Family Pediatric General Care Unit and, once completed, the 4200 Unit will be named The Goldring Family Pediatric Special Care Unit. Together these units create The Children’s Center. This “hospital within a hospital” is designed to meet the medical and emotional needs of young patients. Previously located on separate floors, both general care units are housed within the Center to centralize pediatric facilities and bring services, such as a satellite pharmacy, closer to patients. Pediatric patients are cared for by over 190 pediatric practitioners who represent every major pediatric sub-specialty service.
