Pediatric Rheumatologist Appointed To Be National Mission
Chair For Arthritis Walks

Pediatric rheumatologist Elizabeth Chalom, M.D., was recently asked to serve as the National Mission Chair for the 2007 Arthritis Walks throughout the country. Dr. Chalom has accepted the position for establishing the best practices related to the implementation of the Arthritis Foundation’s mission at local Arthritis walks in 2007.

Dr. Chalom serves on the Executive Committee of the Arthritis Foundation, New Jersey Chapter. She is one of only three board-certified pediatric rheumatologists in New Jersey, and she is Director of the Division of Pediatric Rheumatology at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, located at the Saint Barnabas Ambulatory Care Center. She received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University and medical degree from Columbia University Medical School.

“I think the walks are a great way for people, especially children, to become involved with the Arthritis Foundation,” says Dr. Chalom. “It’s wonderful to have such events that focus on children, who are so used to hearing phrases like “You’re too young to have arthritis,” or “I don’t believe you,” she adds.

Please call (973) 322-7600 for more information or to make an appointment with Dr. Chalom.
