Saint Barnabas Sponsors Women's Health Initiative Program Scheduled for Saturday, October 25

Saint Barnabas Medical Center, where more than 100,000 women are treated annually, will offer a half-day symposium entitled “Women’s Health: Turning Confusion and Concern Into Information and Insight,” as part of its ongoing Women’s Health Initiative.

The symposium, scheduled for Saturday, October 25, will feature Saint Barnabas experts who will provide the most up-to-date information on important medical issues affecting women. Learn whether taking an aspirin a day can help prevent a heart attack; the facts and fiction of hormone replacement therapy; and what else besides annual mammography can help detect early breast cancer.

Featured speakers include Veronica A. Ravnikar, M.D., Chairperson of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Director of the Center for Menopause Reproductive Endocrine Services at Saint Barnabas; Jacqueline Schwanwede, M.D., Attending Cardiologist at Saint Barnabas Medical Center; and Elissa J.
