Seton Hall University College of Nursing Names
Nancy E. Holecek, RN,
Senior Vice President for Patient Care Services at
Saint Barnabas Health Care System to Hall of Honor

Nancy HolecekLivingston, N.J. --Nancy Holecek, R.N., Senior Vice President for Patient Care Services for the Saint Barnabas Health Care System, has been selected for induction into the Seton Hall University College of Nursing Hall of Honor.

Ms. Holecek joins a highly select group of distinguished nursing alumni who are being recognized for their leadership qualities. First established in 2000, the Nursing Hall of Honor inducts new members every five years. In 2000, 18 members were inducted; in 2005, Ms. Holecek is among 12 honorees. The individuals are nominated by alumni from Seton Hall University College of Nursing.

“To those of us who know Nancy, it is no surprise that she has achieved this honor,” says Ronald J. Del Mauro, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Saint Barnabas Health Care System. “With style and grace, Nancy has been a leader in developing nursing competency by envisioning programs that instill responsibility and professional growth.”

In her position, Ms. Holecek is responsible for all nursing and related patient care activities at the acute care hospitals within the Saint Barnabas Health Care System. Since 1982, when she first became a staff nurse at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, to her current position which she has held since 1997, she has contributed to enhancing and improving health care quality, education and professionalism throughout the nursing profession.

According to Phyllis S. Hansell, EdD, RN, FAAN, Dean and Professor of the College of Nursing, the Hall of Honor was created to celebrate the achievements of the college’s most distinguished alumni. “These individuals are a highly select group,” explains Ms. Hansell. “Ms. Holecek was nominated by her fellow alumni from Seton Hall College of Nursing which is, indeed, quite an honor.”

Induction into the College of Nursing Hall of Honor will take place during the Nursing Gala celebrating the 65th Anniversary of the Seton Hall College of Nursing on September 22, 2005 at the Pleasantdale Chateau in West Orange, NJ.

The Saint Barnabas Health Care System is New Jersey’s largest integrated delivery system. The System includes eight acute care hospitals, nine nursing and rehabilitation centers and three assisted living facilities, ambulatory care facilities, geriatric centers, a statewide behavioral health network and comprehensive home care and hospice programs.
