Saint Barnabas Medical Center Holds an Update Concerning Breast Cancer Treatment

Livingston, N.J. – The Cancer Centers of Saint Barnabas Medical Center have planned a free Breast Cancer Symposium entitled “Empowering Through Knowledge” for Saturday, April 5, 2008.

This program is designed to provide individuals with the most up-to-date information as recently presented at the 30th Annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium, an international event which addresses new and late breaking breast cancer information.

Presentations will be made by a multidisciplinary team of experts and topics will include new concepts, therapeutic approaches and the role of pathology in Breast Cancer treatment, improving self-esteem and body image during and after treatment, as well as post-treatment concerns such as improving one’s quality of life, cardiac-related issues and risk for recurrence.

The event will be held in the Islami Auditorium at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, located at 94 Old Short Hills Road in Livingston. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and the program will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free parking will be available in the main visitors’ lot only.
