Special Summer Camp Seeks Former Burn Patients Livingston, N.J. -- The Burn Center at Saint Barnabas is looking for former pediatric patients that are interested in attending a special, week-long summer camp for burn survivors. Each summer, former pediatric burn patients from The Burn Center at Saint Barnabas have the opportunity to attend the Arthur C. Luf Children’s Burn Camp where they spend the time swimming, hiking, camping out, fishing, doing arts and crafts, dancing and playing sports of all kinds. The special little camp located on 176 acres in the beautiful woods of Union, Connecticut, welcomes burn survivors, ranging in age from 8 to 18, from all over the world. For children who carry visible reminders of their injuries The Children’s Burn Camp provides an environment that promotes self confidence, mutual respect, pride and accomplishment. It is a place where kids can simply be kids. For 18 years, The Burn Center at Saint Barnabas has been sending former burn patients treated at Saint Barnabas to camp, at no cost to any family. This generosity is possible thanks to the many supporters of the Saint Barnabas Burn Foundation and the numerous fundraising efforts of the fire service in New Jersey. Parents interested in learning more about the camp and how their child can attend should contact Lisa Jones, BS, Community Burn Educator for The Burn Center at (973) 322-5682 or lmjones@sbhcs.com.
