Healthy LIFE Is Now More Affordable

For a limited time, the cost of the Saint Barnabas Medical Center Healthy LIFE, a child and teen weight management program, has been reduced by 30% to allow more families to take advantage of this comprehensive program.  The cost for the program is now only $1598 (less than $62 a week) and includes 16 weekly group-education sessions, 2 post-group personalized follow-up sessions, plus individual pre-assessment and final evaluations, including bone density testing, fitness, behavior and measurements.

Obesity is a growing problem among our children and teens. Youth that are overweight or obese have a greater risk for developing many health problems such as diabetes and hypertension. It’s never too late to learn about healthy living!  For families searching for an in-depth, interdisciplinary and individualized program, Healthy LIFE® provides 6 months of comprehensive skill-building, as well as lifestyle coaching and problem solving. In 32 hours of upbeat, interactive groups, Healthy LIFE®’s experienced Clinical Psychologist and Registered Dietitian teach behavior, nutrition and exercise skills that help participants and their families maintain changes for the long-term. Kids will be active in fun physical activities for a portion of every group session.

This program is geared for children, teens and families ready to make a significant commitment to learning how to manage weight in a healthy way for the rest of their lives. If a group setting is not appropriate, individual treatment programs are also available.

Enrollment for this program occurs throughout the year. The next Healthy LIFE group program is starting September 16 with pre-group individual evaluations taking place throughout the summer. For details about payments, insurance, and program options, please call Debra Gill, Program Director at 973-322-7620, or send an email to HealthyLIFE@sbhcs.com
