Saint Barnabas Medical Center Offering Free Half-Day Heart Health Symposium for the Community

Livingston, NJ -- On Monday, March 30, 2009, The Heart Center at Saint Barnabas Medical Center is sponsoring a half-day seminar  Heart Health: Prevention is Key geared to educate our community.  This free program is open to any member of the public who wants to learn about Heart Health.  It will be held from 8:30 am until 12:30 p.m. in the Islami Auditorium at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, 94 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, New Jersey.

With over 80 million Americans affected by Cardiovascular Disease, it is responsible for 35% of all deaths in the U.S. Prevention is key to a heart healthy life.  At this program, renowned cardiologists and experts will gather to educate the public on many aspects heart health including:

  • The importance of prevention
  • Heart failure
  • Early heart attack care
  • Fainting (syncope)
  • Implantable devices
  • Eating right and staying well
  • Fitness and exercise
