Corporal Merrell’s
partner was a patient on the Van Dyke Hospice Unit.
He stated that he wanted to do something in her
memory and decided on a Motorcycle Poker Run because
of their mutual love of motorcycle riding. His
decision to donate the proceeds from the event to Van Dyke Hospice Inpatient
Unit was made because “She
seemed the most at peace when she was here on the
Unit.” and he
wanted to give back to the place he felt cared
for her with such compassion.
He
plans on expanding the event next year to include
a pig roast and hopes to make it an annual event.
