Bereavement support is an important service offered through Van Dyke
Hospice and Palliative Care Center. Long after
the casseroles stop coming and out of town family have returned home,
Van Dyke Hospice is there for 13 months offering support through telephone
calls, home visits and written correspondence. We are there for the
family with group support for newly bereaved widows and widowers at
meetings held conveniently at our Hooper Avenue office, with ample parking
and easy access to the meeting room. This is a place where feelings
are shared, comfort abounds and new friendships are formed.
We also
offer referral to bereavement supports groups for other types of losses.
One to one bereavement services with our highly skilled and compassionate
bereavement staff members are also available.
Van Dyke Hospice and Palliative Care Center offers our Memorial Service
twice a year to honor the memory of loved ones. Our Memorial Service
includes candle lighting by family and friends, music, readings, post
service gathering which includes light refreshments and a display of
our memorial quilts. Invitations are sent to the friends and
families who have been part of the Van Dyke Hospice program, but are
open to anyone who would like to attend.
