Digital Diagnostic Mammography

A digital diagnostic mammogram is a specialized intensive set of x-rays. This procedure is for patients with breast problems or complaints. In addition to the routine screening views, certain special views will also be taken of the problem area. The technologist will question the patient thoroughly to help the radiologist with the reading.

Due to the intensity of the evaluation of the breast complaint, the patient can expect to have additional views performed. The radiologist may also request an ultrasound. You can expect to be at the Breast Center for two hours or more to complete these studies.
