Same-day
test results are available due
to innovative voice recognition technology that faxes reports directly
to each patient’s physician and eliminates delays caused by typing.
In many instances, results are faxed within an hour or two of
the patient’s test.
In future, Web-based technology will be used to send images
directly to physicians’ offices; such transmission mechanisms are
currently being tested at Saint Barnabas.
