David Baran, MD, Director of Heart Failure and Transplant
Research at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, graduated
from the University of South Florida College of Medicine
and completed his internal medicine residency at Columbia-Presbyterian
Medical Center, New York City. His specialty training includes
a congestive heart failure clinical/research fellowship and
transplant cardiology/mechanical assist device fellowship
both at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, as well as
a clinical cardiology fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center,
New York City.
Dr. Baran is board certified in internal medicine and cardiology
and is certified by the United Network for Organ Sharing
as a transplant cardiologist. He is a skilled invasive cardiologist
with special competency in endomyocardial biopsy and diagnostic
angiography. Dr. Baran has special interest in heart failure
treatment trials and immunosuppression research. He has authored
more than 30 peer reviewed articles and has lectured on the
topic of heart failure and transplantation at professional
conferences in the United States and abroad.
