Bruce Brener, MD, Director of the Vascular Center of the Saint Barnabas Health Care System; Director of Vascular Surgery, Fellowship Program Director, and Medical Director of the Vascular Lab at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, is a renowned vascular surgeon who continues to advance minimally invasive surgical techniques for the treatment of circulatory illness and injury. He has served as principal investigator for numerous clinical research studies throughout his career, including several that provide patients with the newest generation of stent grafts used to treat aneurysms.
Dr. Brener is widely published on topics in vascular surgery and he has made hundreds of presentations at national and international conferences.
Dr. Brener received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA. He completed residencies in General Surgery at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, Boston, MA; and West Roxbury V.A. Hospital, MA, as well as a fellowship in Vascular Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Brener is board-certified in surgery and vascular surgery. He serves as President of the New Jersey Chapter of the American College of Surgeons and has been President of the Vascular Society of New Jersey, the Eastern Vascular Society and the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery. In addition, he served as Governor of the American College of Surgeons, representing vascular surgeons.
