Screening Information

It is believed that about 3 million Americans have celiac disease and only about 3% of them know it! There are many varied and subtle symptoms that may be present and this disease often remains undiagnosed, often for as long as 11 years. Left unchecked, celiac disease can cause a vast range of progressive debilitating symptoms and serious complications that may affect virtually every body system. Please review the celiac screening form to identify if you have any risk factors that would indicate the need for an assessment with our Registered Dietitian.

Screening individuals with symptoms and increased risk factors for celiac disease can substantially reduce the time it takes to make a diagnosis. Thirty-minute, customized assessments are available with our Registered Dietitian at the Kogan Celiac Center in Livingston, NJ. Screening blood tests can be performed on site, if indicated, at the time of the assessment. Lab results are mailed directly to the patient (and his or her physician if desired) along with our clinical guidelines for follow-up care. Medical diagnosis of celiac disease is confirmed through an additional GI procedure that may be scheduled at a later date, after confirming lab results.

If you have indicated one or more positive risk factors for celiac disease on the screening form please call 973-322-7272 to arrange for an assessment and screening with our Registered Dietitian.
