Toms River, NJ -- Community Medical Center Home
Health (CMCHH), an affiliate of the Saint Barnabas Health Care System,
recently welcomed home two very important people, Specialist (SPC) Peter
Reed and Private First Class (PFC) Al Brander. SPC Reed is the son
of Certified Home Health Aide, Tricia Speer, and PFC Brander is the son
of CMCHH Business Office Account Representative, Anne Brander. Both
soldiers are members of the Army National Guard 50th Infantry Brigade
Combat Team and are currently home on a short leave from their tour of
duty in Iraq. They will return to the Middle East within the next
several weeks.

On February 4th, the CMCHH team had the honor to visit with the soldiers
and say thank you for their bravery and commitment by “adopting” the
men along with their brigade and including them in the CMCHH Family Soldiers
project. The project encourages Home Health staff members to support
colleagues who have a loved one serving in the military. CMCHH has
also “adopted” the Army Task Force Eagle Lift Troop stationed
in Afghanistan. The nephew of CMCHH Receptionist, Patti Miller,
is currently serving with this Force.
According to Soldiers Brander and Reed, the troops are in need of personal
hygiene items such as “good” razors, shaving cream and toothpaste. They
would also like flavored drink packets that can be added to water.
“I have already sent four boxes packed with items and have another
five to get out this week,” said Ms. Miller. “This
is all thanks to generous donations from the CMCHH staff.”
