The Comprehensive Epilepsy Centers maintain a strong relationship
with other regional and national organizations that are advancing
the understanding of epilepsy and other seizure disorders.
Following is a calendar of diverse activities and a list
of other resources that may be of interest.
Epilepsy
Foundation of New Jersey provides a variety of services
and programs for individuals with epilepsy and their families
to assist with the medical, educational, employment and
social consequences associated with a diagnosis of epilepsy.
State-wide individual, family and community support includes
counseling, support groups, respite care, a speaker’s
bureau, newsletters, a scholarship program and a legislative
advocacy network. Please call 1-800-336-5843 or visit
their web site at: www.efnj.com for
more information.
The National Association of Epilepsy Centers, founded in
1998, establishes guidelines for services, personnel, and
facilities that should be available at a specialized epilepsy
center in an effort to provide consumers, government and
other agencies with criteria to evaluate the quality of epilepsy
programs. It then grants membership to qualifying programs.
Besides Saint Barnabas, about 100 comprehensive epilepsy
programs are members of the organization. Learn more by calling
