New developments in the field of oncology are happening rapidly. At
our System’s Cancer Centers, where 37,000 patients are treated
each year, we pioneer the latest therapies and participate in clinical
trials to help bring important scientific breakthroughs to the bedside.
Our approach weaves in the best medical practices and results in the
highest quality for our patients.
In oncology, high quality care occurs when patients devote the time
to explore all treatment options for their specific form of cancer.
Our cancer centers treat more newly diagnosed cancer patients than any
other program in New Jersey. Across our System, our medical, surgical
and radiation oncology teams work with patients and their referring
physicians in the diagnosis and management of solid tumors and hematologic
malignancies.
Multidisciplinary teams of physicians evaluate and develop treatment
plans for individual patients. Advanced radiologic and molecular diagnostic
tools are available on site. Outpatient treatment centers allow for
administration of chemotherapy and targeted biologic therapy close to
home. Nurses and psychosocial professionals work with patients and their
families in a compassionate, supportive environment, instilling hope,
strength and spirit.
