Saint Barnabas Medical Center and the Children’s Hospitals
at Newark Beth Israel and Monmouth Medical Centers are among
seven hospitals in the tri-state areas of New Jersey, New
York and Pennsylvania to be part of The Valerie Fund Children’s
Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders, one
of the nation’s largest and most advanced pediatric
oncology/hematology networks, providing care to more than
5,000 children with cancer and blood disorders each year.

The
Valerie Center uses a multidisciplinary approach to provide
comprehensive care for children and young adults (from
birth to age 21) with leukemia and other cancers, and blood
disorders, such as sickle cell anemia, thalassemia and
thrombocytopenia. The Center provides medical and psycho-social
care at the time of diagnosis, during treatment and long-term
care after the end of treatment.
