

M. Isabel Roberti, M.D., Ph.D., was appointed Director of Pediatric Nephrology and Transplantation at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in 2003. Dr. Roberti has been with the program as its Associate Director since it was established in 1996. Dr. Roberti completed her medical degree, residency, and pediatric nephrology fellowship at the Escola Paulista de Medicina in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and an additional fellowship in pediatric nephrology at Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York. She received her Ph.D. in pediatrics at the Hospital Sao Paulo. Dr. Roberti is board certified in both pediatrics and pediatric nephrology and is currently Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Nephrology at Mount Sinai Medical Center.

Prior to joining Saint Barnabas, Dr. Vyas served as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at New York Medical College and was a staff pediatric nephrologist at Westchester Medical Center. She has extensive experience in pediatric medicine and research. After receiving her medical degree at Maharaja Sayajirao University in Baroda, India, she completed a pediatric residency and pediatric nephrology fellowship at SUNY Health Science Center-Downstate University Hospital of Brooklyn. She also served as a research fellow at Cornell University. Dr. Vyas is board certified in both pediatrics and pediatric nephrology. Dr. Vyas is the principal investigator in research studying the effects of the transforming growth factor Beta in children with Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) – a condition which that affect kidney function. She is involved in clinical trials to address steroid withdrawal in pediatric transplant recipients.

After receiving his undergraduate degree at Yeshiva University, New York, N.Y., Dr. Stock received his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, also in New York. He completed residency programs at the University of Medicine and Dentistry, New Jersey Medical School, Newark, and participated in a pediatric urology fellowship at the University of California, San Diego. A board-certified urologist, Dr. Stock is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, New Jersey Medical School. He has published more than 30 articles in pediatric urology journals. Dr. Stock has also made numerous presentations at professional meetings and is a member of numerous medical organizations, among them, the American Urological Association, the American College of Surgeons, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Mrs. Orsini has been a nurse for more than 20 years; 16 of those years have been dedicated to renal nursing. She received her nursing degree and masters degree from the Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing in New York City and spent much of her career as a renal nurse and clinician/educator at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, also in New York City. Mrs. Orsini has published or presented more than a dozen professional papers dedicated to nephrology and/or transplantation. For the past six years, she has donated her time at the Frost Valley YMCA Dialysis Camp in New York State.
