Established in 1973 as one of the first vascular
centers in New Jersey, the Vascular Center at Newark Beth Israel Medical
Center continues to serve as a leader in vascular diagnosis and a training
site for physicians and technologists. The Center provides comprehensive
services in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular disease and serves
as a tertiary referral center for the most complex vascular conditions.
The Center offers vascular assessment using the most advanced non-invasive
techniques and treatments that employ the latest minimally invasive
procedures. A full spectrum of cerebral, arterial, venous, and abdominal
vascular examinations are performed.

Located at one of the region’s most progressive
outpatient centers, this state-of-the-art Vascular
Center offers extended hours for the convenience
of patients. Under the direction of renowned vascular
surgeons, the lab is staffed by registered vascular
technologists and provides:
- high definition imaging systems with superior
capabilities in the evaluation of carotid, arterial,
venous and abdominal vessel diseases;
- improved peripheral arterial testing for lower
extremity PAD
- rapid deflation tourniquet to help identify
the presence of venous valvular insufficiency
in patients with varicose veins or venous stasis
disease;
- renal doppler ultrasound used to evaluate blood
flow to the kidneys and identify narrowing
of the small vessels within the kidney.

This comprehensive Vascular Center offers advanced
diagnostic and treatment techniques for the most
complex vascular conditions. A full spectrum of
cerebral, arterial, venous and abdominal vascular
examinations are performed in the modern Vascular
Lab. A new state-of-the-art Multi-Disciplinary
Interventional Suite designed to support advanced
minimally invasive procedures is now open. Located
within the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory,
the dual-plan angiography system will provide a
full range of tests and treatments to evaluate
and manage blood vessel disease and injury in the
heart, brain, major organs, as well as throughout
the circulatory system. The advanced facility is
dedicated in the memory of Morton A. Kreitchman
by the Kreitchman family.
