 For so many women the birth of a child is one of their most
precious moments. Each year more than 17,500 infants are born
at Saint Barnabas hospitals across New Jersey. Nearly 7,000
are born at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, among the top in
the country. Our Mother-Infant Pavilions, Maternity Units and
Birthing Centers combine the experience of a dedicated team
of physicians and nurses and the most advanced technology
with supportive family-centered care.
Many System facilities have recently been expanded and renovated
to provide more comforts and conveniences for expectant mothers
and their families. Private, home-like, fully-equipped birthing
rooms are available at our maternity centers.
A highly skilled team of anesthesiologists stands by around
the clock, along with specially trained nurses who provide
guidance in newborn care and breastfeeding.
Comforting amenities, patient kitchens with beverages and
snacks, flexible visiting hours and the use of video cameras
to capture those first few moments after birth, round out our
programs.
